LiftMaster Error Codes & Blinking Lights
Identify what your opener is telling you based on the LED light pattern

| 1 blink | Sensor wire open or disconnected | Check sensor wiring connections at both sensors and the opener |
| 2 blinks | Sensor wire shorted | Look for damaged or pinched wire, replace if necessary |
| 3 blinks | Door control wire shorted | Check wall button wiring for damage or shorts |
| 4 blinks | Sensor eyes misaligned | Adjust sensors until both show solid lights |
| 5 blinks | Motor thermal overload | Wait 15 minutes for motor to cool, check for binding |
| 6 blinks | Sensor wire reversed | Swap white and white/black wires at sensors |
| Up arrow flashing | Travel limits not set | Program open and close limits using adjustment buttons |

How to Count Blinks
Watch the LED light on your opener after pressing the wall button. Count the number of times it blinks, then pauses, then blinks again. The blink pattern repeats.
How to Program a LiftMaster Remote

Locate the LEARN button on the opener (usually purple, yellow, or orange)

Press and release the LEARN button - the LED will light for 30 seconds

Within 30 seconds, press and hold the button on your remote

The opener lights will blink to confirm programming

Test the remote by pressing the button
Erasing All Remotes
To erase all programmed remotes (useful if you lose one), press and hold the LEARN button for 6 seconds until the indicator light turns off. You will need to reprogram all remotes after this.
